New River Bar and Lounge
Our bar and lounge have been named after the 10 pound rainbow trout Kari caught on the North Island. Come and learn how "New River" got his name. Have a look around. The fireplace is one of five and is surrounded by local schist rock. The leaf bowl is the artistic work of one of New Zealand's famous wood turners. The Kiwi bird is made of circular saws. The elephants were hand carved in Thailand. The wooden bowl and ladle come from Morocco. The wood vases were hand carved in Australia. The German porcelain doll was purchased in Munich, Germany and is hand crafted by one of the leading doll artists in the world. Or just sit for hours in front of huge pictures windows and admire the beauty of this South Island village!
